Welcome to The Forest

Hidden in the beautiful Vale of Kerry sits The Forest; a splendid Victorian country house set in 4 acres of gardens and paddocks. Its tranquil setting makes it the perfect place to relax and an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions of Mid Wales. Located on a quiet lane less than a mile from the centre of Kerry village on the border of Powys and Shropshire it is a 5 minute drive from Newtown and just 15 minutes from Welshpool.

The Forest opened in Spring 2008 and offers 4 star luxury bed and breakfast accommodation in 5 charming en-suite double rooms, one with a four-poster bed. All the bedrooms and spacious drawing room have fine views of the garden and the Kerry Valley. Children of all ages are welcome and there is an outside play area for them. Toy boxes and DVDs are available. We are also dog friendly and can accommodate guest's dogs in our kennels.

We aim to offer the highest quality bed and breakfast accommodation for walkers, riders, cyclists, business people, families and holiday makers looking for a secluded and tranquil location from which to explore area.

The Forest Bed and Breakfast is set in 4.5 acres of garden and paddocks in the peaceful Kerry Vale of Mid Wales.

You can sit in the garden and watch the abundant wildlife or take a stroll into the hills to admire the lovely views.

Tennis Court and Gardens

The Forest has a tennis court and large gardens which all guests are welcome to enjoy.

In addition, comfortable accommodation is available for guests' dogs in our kennels and there is stabling for up to three horses in outbuildings adjacent to the main house.

There is a lot to see and do in this beautiful area of The Marches in Mid Wales including walking, cycling, golf, horse riding, castles to explore and pretty villages and towns. The Forest's central location and good road links makes it an ideal base with easy driving to Shrewsbury, Chester, Ludlow Machynlleth and Builth Wells. Slightly further away lie the beautiful Brecon Beacons, the breathtaking Snowdonia and the beaches of Cardigan Bay.
